Project in brief : This plant is similar to the one we already have set up at MIDC, Basmatnagar in the state of Maharashtra. Particle boards from 6mm to 32mm thickness will be manufactured using cotton stock as well as bagasse, The plant is being set up in collaboration with Heilborn Gmbh, Germany.
The main plant building (2160sqm), which houses the process equipment like mat-forming, hot press, trimming and sizing machine, sander, veneering machine etc. is 90m in length, 24m in width and 6m in height. Span of roof trusses is 24m between centres of RCC columns. Spacing of trusses is 6m c/c. Rectangular/ square hollow sections are being used for roof trusses. Cold roll formed Z sections are being used purlins.
Adjoining the main plant building is the utility block, 84m long X 6m wide X 4m high. The utility block is in RCC and houses all the utilities like compressors, hydraulic power pack, electrical control room, engineering workshop, store etc. Glue kitchen, glue storage and management room also forms a part of utility block. The package chiller unit, cooling tower, blowers etc. are mounted on top of utility block slab. Next to utility block are two RCC silos, 4m dia. X 8m height, for storage of core and surface chips.
Apart from above, structures like boiler house (thermic fluid heating system), chipper house and screen house which also form part of plant buildings, are situated on the rear side of main plant and utility block. In between chipper house and the screen house is wet chip silo, 7.5m in dia. and 9.5m in height. The switchyard, substation building, MDB, DG and MCC rooms are located close to the screen house. Ground service reservoir is in the extreme Southeast corner of the plot.
Among the non-plant buildings are admin. building (200sqm.), essential staff quarters (150sqm), security cum weigh bridge cabin, toilet block and other. Machine foundations which constitute the major part of civil work include foundations for hammer chipper, beating flaker, dryer, boiler, chimney, compressors, mat-forming machine, hydraulic hot press, sander, conveyors, blowers, cyclones, pumps etc.
