Project in Brief : The scope included engineering of ware house, DG/HT/LT rooms, raw water and fire water tank, cooling tower basin and ETP structures.
The Warehouse building is 60m long X 40m wide X 5m in height with office block, G+1, in the front. The office block is in RCC. The warehouse is in RCC up to tie level with profiled pre-coated sheet roofing over steel trusses/girders and purlins. The peripheral columns are 5m c/c and the central columns are 10m c/c. The span of roof trusses is 20m. Structural steel girders are provided along the central column row to receive intermediate roof trusses. Side covering is in brick masonry up to lintel level and in profiled pre-coated sheets above lintel.
DG/HT/LT house is 36m in length X 16m in width and 7.5m in height and has ground plus one upper floor. The floor slab is at 2.5m level. The first floor has pre-coated roofing sheets on top supported by steel trusses and purlins. The first floor is designed for 1000 kg/sqm live load. The structure is designed as RCC moment resisting frame.
Raw Water and Fire Water Tank is 50m long X 18m wide and 3.6m in depth. Abutting is a pump house of size 20m X 5m. The tank is partially underground with top of base raft 2.5m below ground. Water table being high in the area the tank was subjected to uplift pressure. For safety against uplift the roof slab is overburdened with 450mm thick layer of soil. RC columns are provided at regular interval to form a grid of 4.5m X 5m. The base raft is designed as a flat slab .
ETP structures included aeration tank, equalisation tank, biodeck and hopper bottom clarifiers. All are in RCC. The cooling tower basin is 11m X 10m X 2.2m deep.
