Project in Brief : A TV manufacturing unit of Videocon group is spread over 40 Acres of land. Phase I of the project-comprised construction of various shops, for manufacture of TV components, like Large Injection Moulding Shop, Small Injection Moulding Shop, Flyback Transformer Shop and Substation Buildings.
Large Injection Moulding Shop : The structure planned to house 10 Nos. large injection moulding machines with sufficient working area around and to store moulds. Twin bays, 15m X 140m each and 12m in height are in RCC. Gantry girders in structural steel are provided in each bay for 15T capacity EOT cranes. Trolley tracks are provided for handling of moulds in trolleys. Columns, 11m in height were constructed in one go.
Small Injection Moulding Shop : A two storied RCC structure with each floor having an area of 45m X 45m. Ground floor is being used as a raw material store. A part of first floor is being used as a production hall with small injection moulding machines and the remaining as raw material store with a live load of 2000 kg/sqm.; with offices on flanks for production staff.
Flyback Transformer Shop : A Fly-Back Transformer is a transformer used to step up a very high voltage in a television set. Components of this transformer are manufactured in this shop. It requires a dust-free environment. The ground plus one upper floor shop, has 40m X 60m area on each floor and is in a totally RCC construction. The floor to floor height is 6 m. The upper floor houses machinery and cranes. Passenger and freight elevators are provided for vertical transportation.
