An Integrated TV Project for Videocon International Ltd. Aurangabad

Project in Brief : The phase II project included construction of a Raw Materials Store, Casing (Assembly) Line and a Finished Goods Go-down all in one single giant complex on a plinth of 235m X 160m having five distinct wings.

The first wing was reserved as a Raw Material Store , 200m long X 21.7m wide and 200m X 3.7m covered passage had a provision for ground plus four upper floors. The second, third and fourth wings, 170m long X 21.7m wide each, had a provision for ground plus two upper floors to house a TV assembly line called "Casing Lines". A distance of 18m was proposed between the consecutive wings. The Finished Goods Go-down , 103m long X 30m wide was proposed at the end of and at right angles to the three assembly line buildings.

All the three assembly line buildings and the raw material stores were to be interconnected at all levels by 10m wide passages. The complex had 32 staircase blocks and 96 toilet blocks. A provision for freight lifts was made in the stores wing. A provision for dumb waiters and refuse chutes was made in the assembly line wings. The assembly line required a dust free environment. Hence HVAC plant rooms were planned in the open spaces between the wings. Total built-up area after completion was to be 80,000 sqm. approx.

Though the design engineering of the entire complex was completed, the project was abandoned after construction of only the ground floor structure of raw material stores, finished goods go-down and the casing line III (12,000 sqm approx.), due to a change in the company's policy.
