Project in Brief : The project consisted of several residential buildings of five different types ranging from only ground floor to ground plus four upper floors structures. The founding strata differed widely from marshy land to fairer soil to disintegrated rock. Accordingly foundations varied from pile foundations in marshy land to raft foundations in fairer soils to open isolated footings in rocky areas. The area being in the high rainfall zone, slopping RCC roofs were provided for all the buildings and pressed clay tiles were used for waterproofing.
